[iR] SimRC vs. TFR

Mal eine andere Angelegenheit. Pedro nimmt am Rseat "Race like Santa" contest teil. Und als Social Media Manager von TFR, hab ich die Aufgabe des Like-whorings übernommen.

Wir sind mittlerweile zu einem Plan für das Jahr 2017 gekommen, aber zunächst hier einmal die Abschrift der Zusammenfassung der Umfrage:

Interestingly, and completely contradictory to recent weekly-race-voting results, only 2 voted for "doing the regular stuff".

Besides fun events, 6 voted for having regular races in the popular official series (8 voted for "maybe", 2 voted against). These races should be early in the week (7 votes), late in the week (5), when participation is low (4), when SoF is high or it's broadcasted (3 each). The most popular series in that survey was the ProtoGT (6x 5, 5x 4) and the Ruf Cup (4x 5, 3x 4, which is dead anyway).

Due to pretty unconvincing results for more serious racing in official series', we decided it might be better if regular drivers arrange common races themselves if they want to. I personally think this is the best choice, especially since we meet each other on the track regularly anyway.

Regarding the fun event, we will continue to hold it on Mondays every week with a small change: we won't choose a specific time slot anymore, but we will count every race between 17 and 23 GMT (GMT+1 during DST) towards the championship. We definitely encourage you to arrange a common race, but that way there won't be a discussion anymore about why races are so early/late, and you can also do multiple races during that time frame.

Because the majority wants to drive fun car/track combinations rather than doing the regular stuff, we decided to restrict the choices during a season (a season contains of the 12 regular weeks and a season finale in week 13). No series (in MC events no car/class of a series) will be driven more than once per season. No track (to avoid driving the Nordschleife every week) will be driven at more than three times.

During the voting phase (Tuesday 0 GMT to Saturday 0 GMT) you have to give the points 1 to 9 to one series/class. No number of points may be given more than once, and you can only give points from 9 downwards (e.g. if you only want to give points to 3 series, make it 9-8-7, not 9-2-1). If you don't want to drive a car/track combination (because you don't own it or it's driven on COTA), you'll give it a 0. But try your best to use all points. And also remember the restrictions of series/classes and tracks. The winner will be determined by the sum of all points, followed by the least number of 0s and so on. In case of a draw, the winner will be chosen at random.

The result of a single event will be determined by iRacing points first, then by laps followed by total race time, followed by position in the race and by incidents. If all of these are equal, both drivers deserve to clinch the same spot. We decided for a system like this because we might race in unofficial races and in such a case, even if some got points in another race, iRacing points are ignored in favour of laps/race time.

After each event, points are given using the VLN points system (http://www.vln.de/en/info/spectators/classification.html). No bonus points for wins, fastest laps, incidents. Each point counts, no drop weeks, no average calculation.

As mentioned, there is an open issue, and we don't agree on this atm, and that's the choice of races. Since we have that restriction mentioned above, we might end up getting the boring races to the end of a season and people decide to not participate in these if we did the votings every week. So we could vote for the schedule in the beginning of a season. Or we could also reset the restrictions 2-3 weeks before the finale. What do you think about that?

Also, this is not a fixed rule set. Anything can be changed until our first event, which is planned for the 16th of January. Think of it, and if you absolutely disagree with anything, give it a go, tell us, and we'll find a solution.

Das sind eigentlich nur 1-2 der Briten. Die haben dann einfach ein Pech, ich denk zwischen 20-21 Uhr is da eigentlich die ideale Zeit dafür.

Heut irgendwer von euch in was unterwegs? Nach 2 wochen Entzug brauch ich eine Radikalkur.

Hab gehört der Radical fährt in Interlagos
Ich werde heute nur ein bisschen practice fahren. Im Aston stehen Motegi & Nürburgring auf dem Programm, Daytona in der C7. Irgendwas davon wirds. Und falls ich zu müde bin geht's nach Pocono

Bis man draufkommt, dass das fixed Setup is.

Aber warum fahrt man denn sowas? Der Kia mit 0 wing auf der Nordschleife is ein Verbrechen...
