Wie kürzlich schon erwähnt geht auch die Spirit of VLN Serie bald wieder in die neue Runde. In der dritten Saison waren Luke & ich da recht erfolgreich im Kia unterwegs, der diesmal auch wieder am Start ist. Nun, wo die Nordschleife veröffentlich ist finden die Rennen nicht mehr in Suzuka, Spa und Co. statt, sondern nun orientiert man sich voll an der echten VLN Serie und demnach geht es immer an die Schleife.
Insgesamt gibt es 5 Klassen, die zur Auswahl stehen. Alle näheren Informationen findet man weiter unten.
iRacing has finally released the green hell - and of course Spirit of VLN will start soon a full season on "the mother"!
We decided NOT to start in 2015 - mainly due to two reasons:
- there seem to exist some problems regarding the framerate on the GP-circuit: probably/hopefully iRacing can improve the framerate within the next days a little bit so that a full grid with 60 cars is able to start with a decent frame rate.
- On december 25th and january 1st we are quite sure that A LOT OF teams would not be able to start - so the first race will take place at the end of january 2016. There will be organized some "official training days" on the saturdays in january before the first race.
Most important facts about season 2016:
- 10 races per season
- raceday is saturday, races will start at 6pm GMT (7pm GMT with DST)
- 9 races with a racelength of 4 hours, 1 race with a racelength of 6 hours (all races with VLN-layout)
- One special event with 24 hours (points will not score for the championship, 24h-layout)
- Single-driver-teams are possible
- 5 car classes: GT3-Cup (BMW), Ruf-Cup (Ruf C-Spec), Kia-Cup (Kia Optima), Mustang-Cup (Mustang FR 500 S), Mazda-Cup (Mazda MX5-Cup)
- each car class is limited to 12 cars per class (total number of 60 cars)
- races every 4 weeks (will not collide with iR-official Blancpain Endurance-Series)
- We will try to offer a livestream - it will depend on the amount of donations how many races will be streamed. (24h-Special-event will definitely NOT be streamed). Sponsorship is possible like in the last seasons, more details in early january 2016.
- sign in for this series will start on january, 3rd 2016. The schedule will be released on this day too.
